More than 19,000 visit 30th Annual Embassy Festival of Trees
(December 4, 2014) – The 30th Festival of Trees at the Embassy Theatre concluded on Dec. 3 and the eight-day festival set an attendance record of 19,078 surpassing last year’s total by nearly 1,000 people.
This year’s festival featured 58 trees sponsored by area businesses with themes such as “30 Years of Music,” to “Joyeux Noel.” Children loved the “Frozen Christmas” tree that featured the characters from the movie, “Frozen.” Other crowd favorites were “Alice at the Embassy” sponsored by Roto Rooter, “Christmas Revisited” by Carson’s Department store, “Voices of the Mute Swan” from Primary Engineering and “Wells of the World” presented by Franklin Electric.
Thousands of festival attendees voted for their favorite tree and after tabulating the result, the People’s Choice award winner for this year is, “Back to the ‘80s” sponsored by Moake Park Group and designed by Scott Hermance. Second place goes to “The Very Hungry Caterpiller,” sponsored and designed by Bona Vita Architecture and third place is “A Frozen Christmas with Shindigz,” sponsored by Shindigz Party Supplies and decorated by Brandy Pulley and Amber Archer.
Many people participated in games that added to the fun. Winners are:

- Jefferson Pointe gift cards – Ruth Kemp
- “Frozen Christmas with Shindigz” tree – Barbara Armstrong
- Vera Bradley merchandise – April Federspiel
- Two tickets to Jersey Boys Broadway at the Embassy – Betsy Loechner
- Fort Wayne Tincaps 4-seat, 12 game package – Shannon Nix
- Carson’s decorated tree – Nicole Tribble
- Bikes from the Bike tree – Chelsie Rosine
Festival of Trees is the Embassy’s signature fundraising event and dollars raised benefit the nonprofit’s operations and programming. The 31st annual Festival of Trees will take place Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, 2015.
