MKM architecture + design partner casts vision for senior living to international and regional audiences

(September 16, 2014) – MKM architecture + design (MKM) partner, Zachary Benedict, AIA, LEED AP, is sharing MKM’s vision for how communities can support aging-in-place at two upcoming conferences.

On September 17, 2014, Benedict will present “A Visionary Look: The Tipping Point for Senior Living” to the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) Summer Conference in Ontario, Canada. The presentation provides an overview of emerging global trends, changing care models, and shifting priorities by outlining the growing important of intergenerational communities and the power of place. Following the presentation, Benedict will moderate a panel discussion on “Consumerism, Collaboration, and Competition.” For more information on the conference, visit .

Benedict will also be speaking as a panelist at the Metropolitan Planning Council roundtable entitled “Planning for the Aging of Chicagoland’s Communities” on October 23, 2014 in Chicago, Illinois. Fellow panelists include Village of Gurnee Mayor Kristina Kovarik, Gurnee, Ill.; and Jennifer Molinksy, research associate, Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies.
