The Fort Wayne Fire Department Promoted Two
(April 10, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department will promoted two firefighters at a promotional ceremony held in the Council’s Chamber in Citizens Square last Friday. The individual firefighter’s names, ranks and brief biographies are below.
JEREMY M. SEXTON
Hired – 04/30/1999
Promoted to Lieutenant – 03/06/2010
Lieutenant to Captain – 04/11/2014Lieutenant Jeremy Sexton is nearly a 15 year veteran of the Fort Wayne Fire Department. During his time on
the department, Jeremy has served as a Lieutenant for 4 years. Lt. Sexton has received various certificates for
trainings. Jeremy received a perfect attendance letter for 2008, 2011, and 2013.Lieutenant Sexton has successfully completed the Captain Promotional Process. Under the direction of a
Battalion Chief, a Captain commands and participates in all fire combat activities and rescue operations of his
assigned crew. While maintaining morale, discipline and good performance of its members, a Captain is
responsible for overseeing all activities and maintenance of a fire station.
MARC SCHROEDER
Hired – 10/11/1996
Promoted to Lieutenant – 12/29/2002
Promoted to Fire Investigator – 09/12/2004
Obtained the rank of Captain – 12/25/2005
Captain to District Chief Fire Investigation – 04/11/14Captain Marc Schroeder is a 18.5 year veteran of the Fort Wayne Fire Department. During his time on the
department, Marc has served as an Investigator for nearly 10 years and was a Lieutenant for 2 years. Captain
Schroeder has received various certificates for trainings. Marc received a perfect attendance letter for 2007,
2010, 2011and 2013.Working under the direction of the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention, the District Chief- Fire Investigation
supervises and coordinates all the activities relating to the Fire Investigation Division.
