(March 11, 2014) – A winter storm will impact the area late tonight through the day on Wednesday. After a period of rain, and a brief period of a rain/sleet/snow mix, precipitation is expected to change over to all snow from north to south across the area late tonight.
Heavy snowfall is expected late tonight through Wednesday morning across the area, with total snowfall amounts in the 5 to 9 inch range. Gusty winds are expected as well, with winds 20-30 mph gusting to 35-40 mph, especially Wednesday morning. This is expected to cause blowing and drifting snow across roadways, causing hazardous travel conditions. Power outages are possible as well, with the combination of the heavy snowfall and strong winds.
