IPFW Event Encourages “Awesome” Body Image

(February 27, 2014) – We all have negative thoughts about ourselves. Learn to embrace all of the great things about yourself at Indiana University-Purdue University’s (IPFW) upcoming event, “You’re Awesome … Accept It,” on March 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Walb Union Ballroom.

This event is free and open to the public. National Eating Disorder Awareness Week takes place February 23-March 1. At this event, attendees will learn about body image, how it affects us, and how to improve yours.

Evening events include:

  • “Defining Body Image” – Kaleigh Meyer and Brooke Farrington, Farrington Specialty Counseling
  • “Defining Self Talk” – Linda Smith, Smith Counseling LLC
  • Personal stories, monologues, songs, skits, Q&A, and much more …

“This event signifies that every person has worth as a valued, unique member of the community,” said Judy Tillapaugh, director of wellness and fitness at IPFW.

The event is sponsored by the IPFW Center for Healthy LIving: Campus Clinic and Wellness Programs; IPFW Peer Educators; Reidenbach Nutrition LLC; L.Smith Counseling LLC; Farrington Specialty Counseling Inc; and Parkview LIVE.
