News release from Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN 3rd):
Stutzman Statement on Veterans Day
(November 8, 2013) Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement in observance of Veterans Day.
“On Memorial Day we pause to remember the Americans who gave ‘the last full measure of devotion’ for our freedoms. On Veterans Day we honor and celebrate those who returned safely. Our national strength has never rested in economic might or overpowering force but in individual courage and commitment. America ended slavery, freed Europe, defeated communism, and fights terrorism today because courageous men and women answered freedom’s call. We owe our veterans a lasting debt of gratitude and ask for God’s protection for those serving in harm’s way.”
