The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir Presents Choralfest Concert – A Salute to Broadway and the American Folk Song

(July 16, 2013) – The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is proud to announce their upcoming Choralfest Concert on Friday, August 9, at 7pm at Foellinger Outdoor Theatre at Franke Park. This concert, “A Salute to Broadway and the America Folk Song” will feature music from the 20th century traditions of Broadway and American folk music. Audiences will immediately recognize and love the performance selections.

All of the Children’s Choir ensembles will perform at this popular concert, including the campus ensembles and community choirs of Whitley and DeKalb communities. The organization is proud to unveil its newest community choir, the DeKalb Community Children’s Choir. The DeKalb Community Children’s Choir is an ensemble of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, and is designed for the DeKalb Community. Pam Pierson, principal at Lakewood Park Christian School is directing this new ensemble, and Kristen Snyder, music education specialist in the DeKalb County Central school system.

This is a free concert, and all are welcome to attend. This is the perfect concert for families with young children, as the venue and atmosphere lends itself well to a more casual concert.
