…LATE WINTER SYSTEM MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY NIGHT…

TWO AREAS OF LOW PRESSURE…ONE MOVING NORTHWEST FROM TEXAS…AND THE OTHER DROPPING SOUTHEAST FROM THE NORTHERN PLAINS…WILL CONVERGE ON THE GREAT LAKES AND OHIO VALLEY REGION FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE WORK WEEK. BY TUESDAY MORNING…ONE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED IN THE SOUTHERN IN THE LOWER OHIO VALLEY VALLEY.

LIGHT PRECIPITATION MAY BEGIN TO FALL SOUTHWEST OF A KNOX TO MARION INDIANA LINE MONDAY NIGHT WITH HEAVIER PRECIPITATION OVERSPREADING THE REGION ON TUESDAY. A LAYER OF WARMER AIR WILL WORK IN AHEAD OF THE MERGING LOW PRESSURE AREAS…FURTHER COMPLICATING THE FORECAST. AT THIS TIME…THE THREAT FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION…MAINLY IN THE FORM OF SNOW AND SLEET…WILL INCREASE FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST EARLY TUESDAY MORNING ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF ROUTE 6.

COLDER AIR WILL ARRIVE BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON…ALLOWING FOR ALL OF THE PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE TO SNOW. PERIODS OF MODERATE SNOW ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE AREA…WITH THE EXACT LOCATION AND DURATION REMAINING UNCERTAIN. MANY LOCATIONS WILL LIKELY SEE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW…WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR 4 TO 6 INCHES OR MORE EXISTING WHERE THE MAIN BAND OF SNOW REMAINS IN PLACE. SNOW CHANCES ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH WEDNESDAY.
