American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana and Indiana Michigan Power to Offer Free Hands-Only CPR Training
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of people over the age of 45 and is a risk factor in sudden cardiac arrest, killing over 300,000 every year. However, many of these deaths could have been prevented. That’s why the American Red Cross and Indiana Michigan Power have joined forces to bring you The Power to Save a Life, a special Hands-Only CPR training event that will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Glenbrook Square Mall. Two 45-minute training sessions will be offered free to the public at 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome, but due to space limitations, preference will be given to those who register in advance. At The Power to Save a Life, qualified CPR instructors will teach you how to recognize an emergency, call for help, and perform Hands-Only or Compression CPR.
“Knowing how to perform Hands-Only CPR is an essential life skill that everyone needs,” according to Kay Ostrum, Executive Director, American Red Cross. “Come to The Power to Save a Life on October 8 and learn how to save a life.”
