News release from the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership:
Northeast Indiana To Pursue Foreign Investment from Europe
(September 9, 2011) – Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (NEIRP) is traveling to Europe from September 12 to the 25. Meetings with corporate decision makers in France, Sweden and Germany are scheduled to promote awareness of Northeast Indiana and position the region as a lead contender for business expansion in the U.S.
“Our continued, consistent presence with companies throughout Europe is a key component of increasing investment in our region,” said Dale Buuck, vice president and director of business development. “Northeast Indiana makes great business sense for many of these companies as they look to break into the U.S. market. Not only are we accessible and well-located, we have a high level of expertise in specific industry clusters.”
Of particular focus on this trip are companies in the advanced manufacturing, emerging technologies and food processing industries. This trip is the Partnership’s second economic development mission to Europe this year and the third international trip year-to-date.
The NEIRP is charged with marketing the region, made up of 10 member counties, to potential investors across the globe.
The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership (NEIRP) was created in 2006 to help build a globally competitive economy in Northeast Indiana through business development, capacity building and job growth. In 2010, Vision 2020 was formed under the umbrella of the Partnership to build the capacity of the region in five key areas: 21st Century Talent, Competitive Business Climate, Entrepreneurship, Infrastructure and Quality of Life. By combining business development efforts with capacity building, NEIRP has the tools needed to leverage the region’s current attributes and build future strength.
