News release from Congressman Marlin Stutzman:
Stutzman Decries Lack of Leadership by President
Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN-03) issued the following statement after Standard & Poor’s (S&P) announced their change to the debt outlook of United States from ‘stable’ to ‘negative.’
“It is time for truthful and honest leadership from those in power in Washington,” stated Stutzman “the President has decided to ignore the S&P downgrade as a ‘political judgment’ again showing his disregard for the fiscal situation facing our Nation. This lack of leadership is unconscionable. Now is the time for the adult conversation on economic issues as we approach the ‘debt ceiling.’ If we make the hard decisions now we can protect the promises made to seniors and still allow our children and grandchildren their opportunity at the American Dream.”
Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
