Friday, Democrat Nick Tash filed for the Fort Wayne City Council At-Large race in the upcoming May primary election.
At 19, he is the youngest candidate on the ballot. Â Both WANE-15 and Indiana’s News Center covered his filing. Â Yesterday, I asked him a couple of questions via e-mail about his experience.
AFW: Would it be safe to say you didn’t expect all the media attention?
Tash: I expected some attention but certainly not as much as I received! I could have never anticipated being on almost all the local stations.
AFW: How did you find the process overall?
Tash: The process was daunting, a bit terrifying. I mean, it’s a scary thing putting yourself out there. However, I’m very happy it is happening.
AFW: Any advice for the first time filer?
Tash: For the first time filer: steel yourself! Particularly if you are young, be prepared to face much doubt about your candidacy.
