Ken Nicolet formally kicks off his campaign for the 1st District Fort Wayne City Council Republican nomination in the May Primary Election tomorrow.

Ken Nicolet to Announce Candidacy for City Council at Kick-off Press Conference
(February 6, 2011) – Respected City of Fort Wayne veteran Ken Nicolet will publicly announce his intent to run as a Republican candidate for the 1st District City Council position at a kick-off press conference at the Republican Headquarters on Tuesday, February 8th at 11:15 am. Ken, whose experience includes city service under three different mayors of Fort Wayne, will be available to the media and the public for questions after the brief announcement. His election campaign committee will also be on hand to assist with media requests.
At the announcement, Ken will discuss details of his election campaign and the issues he will be addressing in his run for office. He will also provide information regarding his qualifications and background.
A native of Fort Wayne, Ken’s reputation is known throughout the area, from his public service as Mayor’s Advocate for neighborhood associations/partnerships, Manager in Public Works, and Street Commissioner to his tenure as St. Joe Township Trustee and member of the St. Joe Township Advisory Board. Ken also has experience in the private sector working with 3M, Warner Lambert Pharmaceuticals, American Optical and Indiana Institute of Technology. He has remained active in the community through his support of the March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Fraternal Order of Police and his volunteer work with Crime Stoppers and Junior Achievement.
The City’s 1st District, a largely suburban association of neighborhoods and businesses in the northeast corner of Fort Wayne, will have the opportunity to vote for party candidates, along with the rest of the City, in the primary elections scheduled for May 3rd.
