Energized Early Response Prompts Mayor’s Intro of Feedback Fort Wayne
Spurred by the public’s enthusiastic response to Legacy Fort Wayne and the immediate outpouring of ideas, Mayor Tom Henry today inaugurated Feedback Fort Wayne. The digital communication tool is a taste of Legacy Fort Wayne’s upcoming community involvement process. Feedback Fort Wayne can be accessed on the initiative’s website at www.LegacyFortWayne.org.
“The positive reaction of residents and their desire to get involved with Legacy Fort Wayne is more than exciting,” said Mayor Henry. “The task force and I both want to capture every idea and collect every thought so we have accelerated the start of our community involvement effort with the launch of Feedback Fort Wayne. You can join the conversation about the future of the Fort Wayne Community Trust and City Light Lease Settlement funds right now at www.LegacyFortWayne.org.”
The full community engagement component is set to kick off in early March, but any resident who wants to share a possibility, express an opinion or make a suggestion about what to do with the Fort Wayne Community Trust and City Light Lease Settlement funds has a way to participate without delay during this initial phase of Legacy Fort Wayne.
Feedback Fort Wayne is a hosted, online forum that gives users the opportunity to create, discuss and vote for ideas. It is another demonstration of Mayor Henry’s ongoing commitment to building a more open, responsive and effective city government.
With the development of SmartGov, Mayor Henry is continually employing new methods, new technologies and process improvements to better serve the public and make Fort Wayne more attractive to new jobs and business investment. Phase one of SmartGov has been about delivering more information and increasing access. Phase two, exemplified by Feedback Fort Wayne, is about enhancing collaboration and interaction.
Formed by Mayor Henry, Legacy Fort Wayne is the community initiative to guide decision making about the Fort Wayne Community Trust and City Light Lease Settlement funds.
While Legacy Fort Wayne will unfold over the next five months, the two funds will not become available until the settlement agreement has received the approval of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
