One-stop college shopping offered at the Northeast Indiana College Fair

(September 27, 2010) – For today’s student, continuing their education after high school isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity. Whether a student plans to go to college, enter a skilled trades program or enlist in the military, additional education will be a part of their future. For those planning on going to college, the Northeast Indiana College Fair is the perfect place to start.

At least 75 colleges and universities from in and around Indiana – both public and private – will have information available on programs and services offered. Representatives also will be available to talk with students about what they are looking for and what the school can provide.

The fair is open to students from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the Walb Student Union at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Many schools will offer transportation for students to attend. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., the fair will be open for students and families who could not make it earlier in the day or who want additional information. From 7:30 to 8 p.m., there will be a financial aid information session for anyone interested in learning more about navigating the financial aid system.

Admission to the event is free, and free parking is available on IPFW’s campus.

The fair is sponsored by: the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling, Fort Wayne Community Schools, East Allen County Schools, Concordia Lutheran High School and IPFW. Click here for more information and a complete list of participating colleges and universities.
