River Levels to Be Adjusted for Bridge and Stormwater Outfall Inspections
Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 30, 2026) – Beginning Monday, November 9, 2026, the gate at Hosey Dam will be opened to lower river levels, allowing Public Works and City Utilities crews to conduct important safety inspections of bridge piers and stormwater outfalls along the rivers.
The inspections are expected to take approximately seven to eight weeks. River users may notice lower water levels during this period, which could limit recreational access.
Once inspections are complete, the gate will be closed, allowing river levels to return to normal recreational levels.
