Vendor Error Sends Duplicate Bills to Small Number of City Utilities Customers
Company Will Cover All Associated CostsFort Wayne, Indiana (October 19, 2026) – Earlier this month, a small number of City Utilities customers received a duplicate bill in the mail. An isolated processing error by a Fort Wayne-based billing vendor affected approximately .04% of customers.
The vendor is covering all printing and postage costs associated with the error. None of those costs will be passed on to customers. The vendor is also covering the cost of printing the original bill. City Utilities apologizes for the confusion and appreciates customers calling to let us know.
City Utilities has worked with the vendor to identify the cause and confirm that safeguards are in place to help prevent similar errors.
