Allen County Veteran Stand Down to Connect Veterans With Resources, Services and Support
Community organizations, service providers and employers will gather Oct. 9 at the Grand Wayne Center to serve local veteransFort Wayne, Indiana (October 5, 2026) — Clothes For Joes will host the 2026 Allen County Veteran Stand Down on Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne. The event is open to all veterans and is designed to connect them with resources, services, employment opportunities and community support.
The Allen County Veteran Stand Down brings together organizations and community partners committed to serving those who served. Veterans attending the event will have access to free hot meals, free haircuts, a job fair, career services, community resources and information from veteran-serving organizations throughout Northeast Indiana.
The event is presented by Team Green Law and made possible through the support of sponsors including the Grand Wayne Center and Hilton Fort Wayne. Community partners include Community Harvest Food Bank and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Every veteran’s journey is different, but no veteran should have to navigate life’s challenges alone,” said Andrew Messmer, chairman and executive director of Clothes For Joes. “The Allen County Veteran Stand Down is about bringing the community together in one place to make sure veterans know what resources are available to them and to remind them that they are valued, supported and never forgotten. Whether someone is looking for employment, basic necessities, community resources or simply a connection to other veterans, we want them to know they are welcome.”
Team Green Law is proud to return as the presenting sponsor of the 2026 Allen County Veteran Stand Down, continuing its partnership with Clothes For Joes to support veterans across the Fort Wayne community.
“We’re honored to serve as the presenting sponsor for a second year and help bring vital resources to those who have served our country,” said Attorney Collin Green of Team Green Law. “Through our continued partnership with Clothes For Joes, we’re not only supporting veterans at the Stand Down, we’re also helping with their new service center, which connects local veterans with the resources and support they deserve throughout the year.”
The event is free to attend. Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of the available services, meet with community organizations and connect with fellow veterans. “You served our country, now let our community serve you,” Messmer said.
