On October 2, 2026, at 2234 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3200 block of Solitude Place, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 2254 hours
Firefighters arrived on the scene and found a two-story home with heavy smoke coming from a bedroom window. Fire crews made entry with hose lines and extinguished the fire.
The occupants had all self-evacuated prior to firefighters arrival, but advised that two cats were still inside. The two cats were later rescued by firefighters and returned to the homeowner.
The house suffered heavy smoke damage throughout.
Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
