The National Weather Service Northern Indiana is warning of a Moderate Risk for excessive rainfall (level 3 of 4) on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Flash Flooding likely on Saturday due to multiple rounds of rain and storms

Forecast Details:

  • Multiple rounds of heavy rain and storms are expected Saturday and Sunday.
  • There is Moderate Risk for excessive rainfall (level 3 of 4) on Saturday.
  • Given that the ground is so saturated from recent rainfall, it won’t take much more rain to renew concerns for areal and river flooding.
  • Locally heavy rainfall amounts of 2-3″ are possible, especially along and north of I-80/I-90.

Potential Impacts:

  • Urban street flooding
  • Low-lying flooding
  • River rises
