The City of Fort Wayne’s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues as several projects received final approval from the Fort Wayne City Council last evening.

Neighborhood infrastructure projects receive approval at City Council
Commitment to investing in neighborhoods continuesFort Wayne, Indiana (September 9, 2026) – Fort Wayne’s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues. Several projects led by the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division received final approval from City Council last evening. The combined investment total is nearly $1 million.
- Vance Avenue concrete street rehabilitation from Hobson Road to Sherborne Avenue – $407,159.
- Right of Way Department vegetation management in the public right of way. The work will include pruning branches, cutting down trees and shrubs, stump grinding, and cutting down herbaceous material – Not to exceed $250,000.
- Traffic Engineering Department traffic detection hardware to reduce repair calls and modernize equipment for traffic signal equipment – $341,780.
Under Mayor Sharon Tucker’s leadership the City is investing $37 million in neighborhood infrastructure enhancements this year.
