Lamar King Jr. Walk-Off Hero in Season Series-Clinching Win

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 22, 2026) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps came back to walk off the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate) in a 6-5 victory in the 10th inning at Parkview Field on Saturday night.

Fort Wayne (50-67, 23-28) scored in each of the final five innings in their 29th come-from-behind win of the campaign. The ‘Caps are now 5-4 in extra-inning ball games this season and have walked it off seven times.

Catcher Lamar King Jr. (No. 27 Padres prospect) played hero with his base hit in the 10th frame to score Bradley Frye. King Jr. reached base in four of his five plate appearances in his fourth three-hit performance of 2026. Center fielder Ryan Wideman (No. 10 Padres prospect) went 2-for-3 and reached base in four of his five trips to the plate.

Great Lakes (65-51, 29-22) got out to an early 4-0 lead after the fifth inning. Right-handed pitcher Cam Leiter (No. 16 Dodgers prospect) struck out seven of the 14 batters he faced in his High-A debut across 3 1/3 innings.

Shortstop Emil Morales (MLB No. 24/Dodgers No. 4 prospect) went 2-for-5 and now has a hit in his last four games. He drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning with his 17th double in a Loons uniform this year. Morales leads all of Minor League Baseball with 109 runs batted in, as he added to that total with an RBI single in the third inning.
