On August 18, 2026, at 2212 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire in the 6900 block of Elzey Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 2212 hours
On Scene: 2215 hours
Under Control: 2229 hours
On arrival, FWFD Engine 5 found heavy fire involvement throughout the mobile home. Firefighters performed an offensive fire attack and performed a search of the home. It was determined that the 2 occupants had self-evacuated prior to the firefighters arrival. FWFD units also searched for one cat but was not able to locate it.
Two adjacent mobile homes, on lots 1 and 3, suffered exposure damage due to the original fire from the home on lot 2. The main mobile home fire was extensive.
Investigators will remain on the scene for further investigation.
