
Four more projects led by the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division received Committee Session approval from City Council last night.

Neighborhood infrastructure projects receive approval at City Council
Commitment to investing in neighborhoods continuesFort Wayne, Indiana (August 19, 2026) – Fort Wayne’s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues. Four more projects led by the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division received Committee Session approval from City Council last night. Final approval will occur at a future meeting. The planned improvements total $4.9 million.
- Real estate acquisition for the Pufferbelly Trail Pedestrian Bridge over Coliseum Boulevard (Vann Family Crossing) – with completion anticipated for winter 2027. This is a critical purchase of .688 acres from Monarch Properties, LLC (Bob Thomas Ford) at 320 West Coliseum Boulevard, valued at $1,150,000.
- Pettit-Rudisill Neighborhood Concrete Street Repairs Phase VI – A unit price of $697,875, with completion anticipated for summer 2027. The project includes reconstruction of Monroe Street from McKinnie Avenue to East Rudisill Boulevard with isolated sidewalk and drive approach replacement, curb ramp upgrades, subsurface drainage, tree removal required by new construction, and restoration of disturbed areas.
- Westwood North Concrete Street Repairs will include removal and replacement of concrete pavement throughout the neighborhood, subsurface drainage, updating storm castings, partial sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement with some residential drive approaches – $1,671,550 with completion expected for fall 2027.
- Westwood Valley Concrete Street Repairs will include reconstructing concrete streets, adding new sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, new curbs and approaches, as well as subsurface underdrains and restoration. Area restoration will involve grass seeding and placing topsoil when the project is completed. A unit price of $1,394,980 with completion anticipated for summer 2027.
Under Mayor Sharon Tucker’s leadership, the City is investing $37 million in neighborhood infrastructure enhancements this year.
