The Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission announced today that Executive Director Nikki Quintana will conclude her service with the Commission effective August 21, 2026.

Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission Announces Executive Director Transition
Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 11, 2026) — The Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission announced today that Executive Director Nikki Quintana will conclude her service with the Commission effective August 21, 2026, following 14 years of dedicated service to the agency and the Fort Wayne community. Quintana has accepted an opportunity to continue serving the community in another role, which will be announced at a later date.
Quintana began her career with the Commission as an investigator and later served as staff attorney before becoming executive director. Throughout her tenure, she has supported the Commission’s mission of enforcing civil rights laws, addressing discrimination complaints, promoting equal opportunity and providing education and outreach throughout the community.
“Nikki’s 14 years of service reflect a deep commitment to the Commission’s mission and to the residents of Fort Wayne,” said Tabitha Ervin, chair of the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission. “We are grateful for her leadership, professionalism and the many contributions she has made to the agency and the community.”
During her tenure, Quintana led a team responsible for handling hundreds of discrimination matters each year and worked closely with federal enforcement agencies to advance fair and effective civil rights enforcement. She advised commissioners, strengthened relationships with community partners and helped ensure that individuals seeking assistance from the Commission received fair, professional and timely service.
“It has been an honor to serve the Fort Wayne community and to work alongside such dedicated staff members, commissioners and community partners,” Quintana said. “I am deeply grateful for the relationships built during my time with the Commission and proud of the work we have accomplished together.”
The Commission remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and uninterrupted services for members of the public seeking assistance with discrimination complaints, civil rights education and equal-opportunity matters.
To ensure continuity of services during the leadership transition, Staff Attorney Lakisha Woods will serve as interim director beginning August 24, 2026.
