On July 17, 2026, at 1025 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of Santa Rosa Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, upon multiple calls to 9-1-1.

Time of Alarm: 1025 hours
On Scene: 1028 hours
Under Control: 1041 hours
The first firefighters on the scene found moderate dark smoke coming from the rear of the single-story home. Crews pulled lines and searched the house for occupants, but all occupants had self-evacuated. One cat was found safe by fire crews. A dog escaped on its own. The fire was brought under control quickly.
Most of the damage was to the outside-rear of the structure.
The cause was deemed accidental.
