On June 12, 2026, at 1439 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 7300 block of Baylor Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A home in the Waynedale area of Fort Wayne, Indiana, received moderate damage due to a fire next to and above a utility room. The home was for sale and an individual performing an inspection called 9-1-1 communications to report the fire.
Fort Wayne Fire Department Engine 5 arrived first and began a fire attack in the utility room and attic of the house. The next arriving crews searched for anyone still inside and assisted in fire suppression activities. The fire was under control within 17 minutes of the alarm.
No injuries occurred at this incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
