
On June 10, 2026, at 1358 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1100 block of Irene Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 1401 hours
Under Control: 1424 hours
Firefighters arrived on the scene and found a working fire in one of the front corners of the structure. Crews stretched an attack line for an interior attack of the fire. A search of the structure was completed but all occupants had self-evacuated prior to the firefighters arrival. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes of the arrival of the first crews. The fire had extended into the attic space which required an extensive overhaul.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department wants to remind the public of the importance of working smoke detectors in a home.
