
The Allen County School Safety Commission will conduct a School Violence Emergency and Rescue Task Force exercise on June 9, 2026, at Northrop High School.

School emergency response exercise
Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 5, 2026) – The Allen County School Safety Commission, in combination with State and Local Emergency Services Agencies, will conduct a School Violence Emergency and Rescue Task Force exercise from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, Northrop High School, 7001 Coldwater Road.
The exercise is designed to simulate a school-based active threat scenario, enabling first responders, school officials, and various affiliated groups and agencies to train together for readiness in response, triage, treatment, transport, reunification, and communication in the event of a real emergency.

- East Allen County Schools
- Northwest Allen County Schools
- Southwest Allen County Schools
- Allen County Fire Districts
- Parkview
- TRAA
- Fort Wayne Fire Department
- Fort Wayne Police Department
- Allen County Sheriff’s Department
- New Haven Police Department
- Indiana State Police
“We know the value of interprofessional collaboration during an emergency, said Doug Goeglein, District Safety Specialist, East Allen County Schools. “The upcoming exercise aims to help participants prepare, plan and practice a rapid, coordinated, and effective response by all parties involved during an emergency.”
