On May 9, 2026, at 1838 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 9500 block of Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1838 hours
On Scene: 1842 hours
Under Control: 1858 hours
The first firefighters on the scene found fire and smoke coming from the back of the house. Firefighters entered the house and discovered a fire in the kitchen which was quickly extinguished.
The residents were home with their dog at the time of the fire and were able to self-evacuate unharmed.
It is not known if there were working smoke detectors in the house.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
