
Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and Fire Chief Eric Lahey today announced promotions for two FWFD employees.

Fort Wayne Fire Department Announces Promotions
Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 14, 2026) – Mayor Sharon Tucker and Fire Chief Eric Lahey today announced promotions for two FWFD employees.
Firefighter Kamron Bell was promoted to lieutenant. Bell is an advanced EMT, is on the hazmat team, and is also a peer fitness trainer. Bell began his career with the FWFD on August 30, 2018.
Firefighter Nicholas Racioppi, who was also promoted to the rank of lieutenant, is an advanced EMT and is on the water rescue team. Racioppi Firefighter Kamron Bellbegan his career with the FWFD on August 30, 2018.
“I’m grateful for Kamron and Nicholas as they work tirelessly to provide the best services possible to the public. Both men display professionalism and expertise and have the leadership qualities necessary to serve as effective lieutenants,” said Mayor Tucker. “The Fort Wayne Fire Department continues to do excellent work each day to save lives and protect property in our great city.”
“We are excited to add Lieutenants Bell and Racioppi to our officer ranks,” said Chief Lahey. “Both of these firefighters have proven to be worthy of this promotion and I’m excited to see how these two emerging leaders contribute their leadership skills to the mission of the FWFD.”
