On March 29, 2026, at 0321 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the 2100 block of Engle Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0321 hours
On Scene: 0327 hours
Under Control: 0348 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire smoke showing from an apartment. Several occupants were evacuating. Firefighters pulled attack hose lines and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters conducted searches of all apartments affected by smoke and fire. Firefighters advised three occupants to stay in their apartments until hallways were vented of all smoke. Once the smoke was cleared, firefighters completed a search of the entire building and found no one.
TRAA medics treated and transported 2 occupants to local hospital.
FWFD investigators remained on scene to determine cause and origin.
