
On February 28, 2026, at 0242 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of Cambridge Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0306 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames and smoke from the windows and immediately initiated an attack. The structure was entered from multiple sides to search for occupants. One adult was located inside and was removed and treated in the front yard, however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other occupants were found. The fire was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes.
Crews secured the utilities and completed salvage and overhaul operations and are remaining on-site to address hot spots throughout the night.
Fire investigators are on site to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
