FWFD: House Fire, 7500 block Antebellum Boulevard

On February 22, 2026, at 0427 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 7500 block of Antebellum Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0427 hours
On Scene: 0432 hours
Under Control: 0453 hours

Firefighters were told one occupant was still inside the structure along with two dogs. FWFD Engine 4 arrived to find a medium 2-story house with nothing visible from the exterior. Upon entry, crews found a smoke-charged house. Fire crews immediately assisted a person down a ladder from the second-floor. The occupant stated he was alerted by a smoke detector but was unable to go downstairs due to the smoke. He also stated he had two dogs that were still inside. Fire crews pulled an attack line and found a small fire in the basement which was extinguished quickly. The house was searched but nothing else was found and the smoke was expelled with fans.

One deceased dog was found in the basement, and the other dog was found barely alive. The dog was brought outside and assisted back to full recovery with some oxygen and care by fire crews.

The occupant was checked by TRAA medics on scene and released with no injuries.

The fire is under investigation.
