On February 21, 2026, at 2039 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire in the Hendricks Auto Repair at 6428 St. Joe Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 2039 hours
On Scene: 2044 hours
Under Control: 2115 hours
The first firefighters on the scene found smoke coming from the attic area. Crews worked to get into the attic area to extinguish the fire. Firefighters took approximately 35 minutes to bring the blaze under control. Firefighters were assisted by the property owner who helped with shutting the gas off to a piece of high-heat equipment in the area of the fire.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
