On February 6, 2026, at 1912 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1300 block of 3rd Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 1913 hours
Under Control: 1938 hours
The first firefighters on the scene reported fire showing from the front of the house. Firefighters entered the house and began to extinguish the blaze. Additional firefighters performed search and rescue and found no occupants in the house. Multiple fire companies responded to the scene and assisted in containing the fire which took approximately 25 minutes to bring under control.
No working smoke detectors were found in the home after the incident.
No injuries were reported. One adult and three children were home at the time of the fire, but all were able to safely self-evacuate prior to the department’s arrival.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
