On February 1, 2026, at 0321 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4600 block of South Park Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0325 hours
Under Control: 0352 hours
Firefighters arrived in less than four minutes to find a fully involved structure fire. Due to the heavy fire coming from every window and fire already through the roof of the structure, crews attacked the fire from the exterior in a defensive nature. Freezing temperatures and limited access didn’t prevent crews from bringing the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.
After the fire had been mostly extinguished and crews were moving in to conduct overhaul, an occupant of the house was found and had unfortunately perished in the fire.
The fire in under investigation at this time.
