City of New Haven Indiana news release:

Update to New Haven Boil Advisory

New Haven, Indiana (February 2, 2026) — The boil order advisory in New Haven has been lifted.
After a water main break along SR 930 in New Haven on Thursday night, resulting in loss of water pressure across most of the city and a boil order advisory, two water tests conducted by the Board of Health came back favorable.

It is thanks to the hard work of the New Haven Public Works Department that the break was swiftly located and ultimately repaired. City officials suspect the break could have been caused by prolonged frigid temperatures or aging infrastructure.

“We know this was a stressful time for everyone in New Haven,” said Mayor Steve McMichael. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. I’m so proud of Team New Haven as they worked tirelessly in the elements and kept their cool under pressure.”

Now that the boil advisory has been lifted, residents can resume day-to-day activities, using and consuming tap water as they normally would.
