
On January 4, 2026, at 0743 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1200 block of Glenwood Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0743 hours
On Scene: 0744 hours
Under Control: 0800 hours
The first firefighters on the scene reported smoke coming from the attic area. Firefighters were able to get into the house quickly and began extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control rapidly, but caused extensive damage to the attic and second floor areas.
The occupant, who was asleep at the time of the fire, reported hearing a loud crackling noise upstairs. When she went upstairs, she found smoke and immediately evacuated with her two pets.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.
