On December 29, 2025, at 0635 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4000 block of Dalewood Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 0737 hours
Numerous calls to 9-1-1 were received. Crews arrived to find a well-advanced fire in the attic. Initial crews performed an aggressive fire attack interior while searching the structure – no one was found. The fire then burned through the roof and the crews went to a defensive mode – flowing hoses and aerial master streams from the exterior. The crews battled not only the fire, but the extreme cold and gusty winds. The crews performed a secondary search and again found nothing. The fire was marked under control at 07:37:16.
Neighbors had said that the house had been vacant for some time now and that recently, they had seen people going into work on the house.
