Details/Summary:
On Saturday, 01/05/2019, at approximately 10:24 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Drexel Avenue reference a battery investigation. Dispatch received additional information indicating a subject had been stabbed. Officers arrived on scene and located a male/adult victim lying in the middle of Drexel Avenue. The victim was unresponsive and appeared to be suffering from two apparent stab wounds to the left chest and left shoulder. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.
Preliminary information indicates there was a disturbance between several subjects prior to the stabbing. Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses at the scene. They hope to obtain suspect information once those interviews are concluded.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. There are no additional details at this time.
