Wellspring news release:
Help Us Feed Families Affected by SNAP Benefit Delays
Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 29, 2025) – Our community is facing an unexpected crisis. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits have been paused for the month of November. Families who depend on this vital support are already turning to us in record numbers for help putting food on the table. This morning the number of clients we served in the Wellspring food bank tripled. Yesterday, we took extra food to one of our mobile pantry sites and we still ran out of food.
We anticipate a sharp increase in clients seeking assistance in the coming weeks. Please donate food or financial assistance to Wellspring so we can serve families who are doing their best but suddenly find themselves without the resources to buy groceries.
Wellspring’s shelves are already being stretched thin. We need your help now to ensure we can meet the rising demand. No one should have to go hungry because of a delay beyond their control. Together, we can make sure that every family who comes to our doors leaves with the food they need.
Donations are accepted Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm at 1316 Broadway. Please follow the link to make a financial contribution using our secure website.
Thank you for standing with us in this critical time.
