IU Fort Wayne hosts Allen County Commissioner in Voices for Health series
Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 9, 2025) – Indiana University Fort Wayne invites members of the media to join students, faculty and staff for its upcoming Voices for Health Speaker Series in partnership with Super Shot. The event will feature Dr. Thomas Gutwein, Allen County Health Commissioner and longtime emergency physician, who will highlight the importance of staying healthy and keeping immunizations up to date.
Dr. Gutwein has served as Emergency Department medical director at Parkview Health since 1998 and has practiced in Allen County and surrounding counties for more than 30 years. As Allen County Health Commissioner since 2022, he focuses on improving patient care, educating providers and the public, and advancing community health through prevention and awareness.
Attendees are encouraged to take charge of their health and “be a flu fighter” by receiving a low- or no-cost annual respiratory immunization through the on-site Super Shot clinic during the event. Vaccines will be administered by IU Fort Wayne nursing students alongside the Super Shot nursing staff.
