Details/Summary:

The FWPD Gang & Violent Crimes Unit received complaints regarding a loud, on going party at 10000 Jamaica Dr. They began surveillance of the address and quickly recognized the participants as members of the local criminal street gang BMG. During said surveillance Detectives observed narcotics being moved into the home, and multiple members of the gang, including two who were wanted on felony charges.

The GVCU obtained a search warrant for the address, and with the assistance of the Indiana State Police, executed the search warrant at 0039 hours. Upon clearing the home, the GVCU removed approximately 30 adult and minor participants from the home. Three abandoned, complete firearms were located in the home, as well as parts for a fourth firearm, believed to have been a machinegun that was disassembled and scattered.

The home was found to be a rented Airbnb, and the party was shut down, and the home vacated for the evening. The owners were notified. The public should be made aware that this is a relatively common tactic of local street gangs and if anything similar and suspicious is observed in any short term rental in your neighborhood, please report it the police.

This is an ongoing investigation.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
