On May 12, 2019, at 1735 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 4500 block of Winston Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 1804 hours
A neighbor called 9-1-1 to report that there was smoke coming from a house next door. The first firefighters arrived and found smoke coming from a two-story home. The crew took a line inside to search for occupants and try to locate the fire. Other units arrived and helped with the search. A fire was found in the basement which was under control in 26 minutes.
The search of the home turned up no occupants. Crews did find one cat that had perished in the fire.
