On March 12, 2020, at 1357 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1700 block of Cortland Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1357 hours
On Scene: 1359 hours
Under Control: 1402 hours
The first arriving firefighters confirmed with an occupant that everyone had already self-evacuated. The house was searched for any possible victims, but none were found. A fire was extinguished in a second-floor bedroom.
An investigation determined the fire was caused by a child playing with matches.

Water Damage: Minor
Smoke Damage: Moderate
