
On July 28, 2021, at 1344 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 9300 block of Dawnsford Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1344 hours
On Scene: 1348 hours
Under Control: 1404 hours
Upon the firefighters arrival they found black smoke coming from eves in attic and a working fire on back side of single story residence. The fire was located and quickly extinguished in the attic as well as an outside wall in the rear of structure. Extensive overhaul took place in the attic and rear of structure to make sure all hot spots were out.
The occupant and 2 dogs had escaped prior to Fire dept. arrival.
Investigators deemed the cause of the fire to be accidental, caused with the improper disposal of smoking material.
