FWFD: Apartment Fire, 641 Tennessee Avenue

On November 11, 2022, at 2357 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire in the Chase Manor Apartments, at 641 Tennessee Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0000 hours
Under Control: 0032 hours

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from a second-floor apartment. Fire crews pulled hose lines to attack the fire and performed a search of second-floor apartments. Fire crews found one victim and rescued them. The victim was transported by TRAA Medics to an area hospital.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and continued to evacuate all apartments in the building with assistance from Fort Wayne Police Department. Crews ventilated smoke from the structure and salvaged apartments from water, smoke and fire damage.

The fire was deemed under control in about 30 minutes.

Fire Investigators arrived to investigate the cause and origin of the fire, which is still under investigation.
