FWFD: House Fire, 2900 block Marne Place

On February 21, 2022, at 1654 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of Marne Place, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1654 hours
On Scene: 1700 hours
Under Control: 1710 hours

Upon arrival, firefighters found residents whom had self-evacuated. The house had smoke coming from front of the 2-story structure. Upon entering the structure, fire crews found a working fire in the kitchen which extended into a family room. The fire was extinguished in 10 minutes.

Crews did a rapid check of structure with nothing additional found. Two Deceased dogs had been removed by residents prior to fire department arrival.

Fire was contained to the kitchen area and slightly beyond with smoke damage throughout the first floor and part of second.

The fire is under investigation.

Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control assisted with the deceased pets.

Fire Damage: Moderate
Water Damage: Minor
Smoke Damage: Heavy
