
On December 23, 2023, at 0756 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 916 West Coliseum Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Time of Alarm: 0756 hours
On Scene: 0801 hours
Under Control: 0847 hours
Initial 9-1-1 reports of a building on fire on North Coliseum Boulevard were incorrect, and firefighters were re-directed to 916 West Coliseum Boulevard. On arrival, firefighters had heavy fire involvement from a business in the center core of a strip mall. Fire had extended to numerous other businesses in the strip mall as well. A tattoo parlor, beauty salon, and online grocery market delivery service were heavily damaged by fire. The other businesses in the strip mall had moderate smoke damage.
There were 2 workers in an end business working at the time and escaped without injuries. No firefighters were injured.
Due to the size of the building, the fire was coded 706, or two alarm fire. The fire was under control in 45 minutes.
The fire remains under investigation at this time.
